If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, we'll gladly accept returns within 14 days for a full refund or exchange. Fresh and perishable items have specific return conditions as detailed below.

Different product categories have different return policies due to their nature:

Non-Returnable Items

For health, safety, and quality reasons, the following items cannot be returned:

  • Opened or partially consumed food products
  • Prepared foods (e.g., deli items, baked goods)
  • Gift cards and digital products
  • Personal care items that have been opened or used
  • Clearance items marked as "final sale"
  • Products damaged due to customer misuse

How to Return an Item

Initiate Your Return

Log into your Danbako account and go to your order history. Select the order and item(s) you wish to return. Alternatively, contact our customer service team at 718-991-7898 or returns@Danbako.com.

Package Your Return

Securely package the item(s) in their original packaging if possible. Include your order number and return reason. For perishable items, please do not return the product but take photos as evidence of the condition.

Return Shipping or In-Store Return

You can either:

  • Drop off the item at any Danbako store (recommended for faster processing)
  • Use our prepaid return shipping label (available in your account or by request)
  • Schedule a pickup for large items or orders over $100

Refund Processing

Once we receive your return, we'll inspect the item and process your refund within 2-3 business days. You'll receive an email confirmation when your refund has been processed. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment method.

Refund Methods

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement
  • PayPal/Digital Wallets: 2-3 business days
  • Store Credit: Immediate availability
  • Gift Card Purchases: Refunded as store credit

Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs are handled as follows:

  • Returns due to our error (wrong item, defective product, damaged in shipping): We cover all shipping costs
  • Returns due to customer preference: Customer is responsible for return shipping costs
  • Returns of perishable items that are spoiled or damaged: We cover all costs
  • In-store returns: No shipping costs

Exchanges

If you prefer to exchange an item rather than receive a refund:

  • For in-store returns, you can receive an immediate exchange
  • For shipped returns, indicate your preferred exchange item during the return process
  • If the exchange item costs more than the original, you'll need to pay the difference
  • If the exchange item costs less, we'll refund the difference to your original payment method

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
  • Take photos of the damaged item and packaging
  • We'll provide a prepaid return label or schedule a pickup at no cost to you
  • You'll receive a full refund or replacement, based on your preference

Quality Guarantee for Fresh Products

For all perishable items, if you're not satisfied with the quality, simply contact us within 24 hours of delivery with a photo of the item. We'll provide a full refund or replacement without requiring you to return the product.

Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven't received your refund within the timeframes listed above:

  • First, check your bank account or credit card statement again
  • Contact your credit card company or bank, as it may take some time for the refund to be officially posted
  • If you've done all this and still haven't received your refund, please contact our customer service team
